Day by day

Your driver picks you up from your riad or hotel at 7:00 am and you set off for Merzouga, crossing the Middle Atlas via Ifrane, Midelt and Errachidia, then on to Erfoud and Rissani. Lunch is taken along the way, in one of the towns or villages you pass through, depending on conditions; the stop is often in Midelt, known for its fossils and rocks. Much of the day is spent driving through forests, steep rock formations and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin the descent into the Sahara. On arrival at the kasbah in Merzouga, you can enjoy a hot shower or a swim in the pool, depending on the weather, before dinner is served at the kasbah.
