2-day circuit: Marrakech to Zagora with camel trek

After breakfast, set off from Marrakech towards the great south and the Draa Valley in a 4x4 or minivan. The road crosses Berber villages in the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass, one of the great mountain passes of Morocco, at 2260 metres altitude. After the mountains and their dramatic scenery, you reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a World Heritage Site built in the seventeenth century. A local professional guide leads a visit of the kasbah and its fortified palaces. Lunch is at a local restaurant near the kasbah. Afterwards the route continues to Ouarzazate, with a stop to see the old Kasbah Taourirt, a UNESCO site. From there the road heads south towards Zagora, through the valley of a thousand kasbahs and the largest palm grove in Morocco, over about 185 km. On arrival you are welcomed with mint tea, then get your things ready for a camel ride to watch the sunset over the small dunes and the palm grove. After an hour on camelback you reach the desert camp, where you spend the night under a Berber tent.
